A new physical activity study evaluated cancer risk associated with light intensity activities. Researchers from University of Oxford and the Metabolic Epidemiology Branch (MEB), led by Alaina Shreves, a predoctoral fellow in the NIH Oxford Cambridge Program and MEB, reported that individuals who engaged in light- and moderate-to-vigorous-intensity daily physical activity had a lower risk of cancer than individuals who were more sedentary.

The study published March 26, 2025, in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
