Connect for Cancer Prevention Study Reaches 100,000 Participants

The Connect for Cancer Prevention Study is excited to announce that it has enrolled its 100,000th participant, marking a significant milestone in the study's effort to build one of the largest and most diverse prospective cohorts focused on cancer etiology and prevention.

Connect was established to recruit a cohort of participants through integrated healthcare systems, with the goal of enabling research into the biological, behavioral, and environmental factors that contribute to cancer risk and survival over time. Reaching 100,000 participants represents years of coordinated efforts across multiple healthcare system partners, a dedicated coordinating center, a standalone participant support center, biospecimen processing lab, scientific leadership, and, most importantly, the willingness of participants themselves to contribute their time, data, and biospecimens to this effort.

This milestone strengthens the study's ability to support research on cancer etiology, disparities, early detection, and prevention strategies across communities in the U.S. We continue to recruit new study participants and engage existing participants with new surveys and follow-up biospecimen collections as well as build out the governance and analytic platform for data access.

We are grateful to the many contributors who made this possible, including the study participants, Participant Advisory Board, participating healthcare systems, supporting laboratory and other services, Connect Coordinating Center, Steering Committee, subcommittees, and associated working groups.
