Paul Albert Elected to Regional Leadership of International Biometrics Society

Paul S. Albert, Ph.D.

Paul S. Albert, Ph.D., Director of the Biostatistics Branch and senior investigator was elected as President of the Eastern North American Region of the International Biometrics Society. His three-year term begins in 2024.

The International Biometrics Society is devoted to the development and application of statistical and mathematical theory and methods in the biosciences, including agriculture, biomedical science and public health, ecology, environmental sciences, forestry, and allied disciplines. The Society is organized into regions, each with at least 10 members. The Eastern North American Region is the largest region with over 3,000 members. Each region elects its own officers and governing boards.

In reflecting upon his election to this prestigious role, Dr. Albert said, “I hope to use this role to bring more attention to the fantastic career opportunities for biostatisticians at DCEG and the NCI and NIH more generally.”
