In April 2024, Laura Beane Freeman, Ph.D., senior investigator in the Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Branch, was re-elected to a second three-year term as chair of the Management Group of the Scientific Committee on Epidemiology in Occupational Health (EPICOH), the largest occupational epidemiologic society in the world. EPICOH is dedicated to the promotion of communication among epidemiologists, industrial hygienists, and other occupational health scientists worldwide.
EPICOH provides a forum for the discussion of problems unique to the study of health and work and is one of the scientific committees of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), a non-governmental organization recognized by the United Nations with a close working relationship with the International Labour Organization and the World Health Organization.
