Pfeiffer and Gail Publish Book on Absolute Risk

In August 2017, Ruth Pfeiffer, Ph.D., and Mitchell Gail, M.D., Ph.D., senior investigators in the Biostatistics Branch, published a new book as part of the Monographs on Statistics and Applied Probability Series by CRC Press. Absolute Risk: Methods and Applications in Clinical Management and Public Health draws on the investigators’ expertise and seminal achievements in modeling absolute risk.

Covering theory as well as delving into examples of conditions such as breast cancer and cardiovascular disease, the book demonstrates the utility of absolute risk models in clinical and public health decisions. The book represents an important contribution to the field and addresses critical challenges and solutions.
