In recognition of Rare Disease Day 2016, Sharon Savage, M.D., Chief of the Clinical Genetics Branch, discussed her research on Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS) at a day-long symposium hosted by NIH; her talk was titled “Bench to Bedside Update: Telomeres in Li-Fraumeni Syndrome.” LFS is a rare, inherited disorder that leads to a higher risk of multiple cancers, including soft tissue sarcomas, brain tumors, and breast cancer. Dr. Savage is the principal investigator of a clinical, genetic, and epidemiologic study of LFS.
